FAQ

Q: How heavy is my piece?

A: The weight varies depending on the size, wood species, and design of the piece. As a general guideline, my most popular size, a 2' x 4' piece, typically weighs less than 25 pounds. Each piece is built with durability in mind while keeping weight manageable for hanging and display.

Q: How do I hang my piece?

A: Every piece arrives ready to hang and includes the necessary hanging hardware already attached. Simply install a screw or appropriate wall anchor, hang the piece, and enjoy. No additional assembly is required. If you're somewhat local to the Central Kentucky Area, I'm happy to help hang the art!

Q: How long will it take to receive my art?

A: Turnaround times depend on the size and complexity of the design. Most pieces are completed within 7 days of production beginning. More intricate designs may require additional time. If shipping is needed, please allow up to 7 business days for delivery after the piece is completed. I'll keep you updated throughout the process so you know exactly where your project stands.

Q: Can I provide sentimental wood for my piece?

A: Absolutely! Some of my favorite projects have incorporated meaningful materials provided by my clients. I've worked with wood from baby cribs, family barns, rocking chairs, old house cabinets, and more. Using sentimental wood can add extra time to the process, as older or reclaimed materials often require additional preparation and care. If you're interested in incorporating your own wood, be sure to mention it when filling out the inquiry form.

Q: What's the largest piece I can order?

A: The largest piece I've created to date measures 4' x 16'. Large-scale pieces are absolutely possible, though shipping and delivery become more challenging as the size increases. If you have a big idea in mind, I'd love to discuss it. Pushing the limits and creating statement pieces is something I always enjoy exploring.

Q: What's the smallest piece I can order?

A: I typically limit custom orders to a minimum size of 1' x 2'. The style of art I create relies on many individually cut and assembled pieces, and smaller formats can make it difficult to achieve the level of detail and craftsmanship I strive for while maintaining durability and safety. If you have a smaller space in mind, feel free to reach out, and we can discuss what might work best.

Q: Do you provide drawings or mockups before starting?

A: No. My work is highly intuitive, and I don't create drawings or digital mockups before beginning a piece. While I may start with a general vision, the design often evolves as I work. I prefer to let the wood influence the direction of the piece rather than follow a rigid, predetermined layout.

To ensure we're aligned, I'll ask you to share examples of my previous work that you like, as well as pieces that don't resonate with you. This helps me understand your style preferences and create an original piece that fits your space while staying true to my artistic process.

Q: I'm ready to place a custom order. How do we get started?

A: Simply fill out the inquiry form below, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. To reserve your spot in my custom order queue, a $50 non-refundable deposit is required. This deposit is applied toward the final cost of your piece and is not an additional fee.

Once we've discussed your project, finalized the design, and agreed on the details, I'll send you an invoice for the deposit. From there, your place in the queue is secured, and I'll begin planning your custom piece.

Thanks for considering a custom order! I'm excited to learn more about your project and see what we can create together.
